true but.....

Digital broadcasting and the internet can potentialy give back that control to the consumer. The on demand possibilities are what is scaring these companies. If I get to decide what I want to see and when I want to see it....how will they be able to target all that comercial crap at me?

Up 'till now the on demand part is not up to par yet. I still have to choose from a list somebody else has made and I can't exactly choose when I want to see a movie. I have to choose from several time slots that are offered.

Imagine true on demand.... I can sit down and pick a movie and watch it anytime I want. It's like renting a dvd but you do not have to leave the house for it. I think that's great. Now if only I could do that with their regular programming as well. Watch friends, will and grace, star trek whenever I want to. Maybe even program my own television evening combining anything from what is being offered. I'd like that. No more switching channels. Maybe even with the option that for a few dollars per month more I can prevent the advertising crap to reach me at all!! For me that would be just a little like heaven.
