Its not worth it

Four years ago I gave up TV and now the thought of mindless hours sitting in front of the tube really turns me off. There were never more than a dozen shows I liked. I do miss PBS, Discovery, and the History channels but not enough to spend 30 bucks a month to have them.
I do think people are missing the fundamental problem. If this was a true democracy then the content providers would have to deal with what the public wanted and not what they want us to have. The more people that simply turn off will not only be smarter and happier individuals they will be making real changes to the demand side of the problem. You know why the 99cent online music places havent worked is because the demanded content is not avalible and frankly there are very few songs I can think of I would pay $1 for. There was a time before where I spent a easy 30 a month to buy music but like all things they got to greedy and 20 bucks a cd was it for me. I learned to live without it and now I dont need it and have no need (demand) for it. No matter what they do- they will do it without me.
