Re: Visiting Unknown Web Sites
"If corporations don't hold employees accountable for visiting unknown websites, especially if they are victims of phishing, then they might as well hold the vault open to their treasury too."

Please define an unknown website for me. I have never visited www.xiotech.com. As an Enterprise Architect for Storage Management, i'll probably need to at some point. (In a couple of minutes actually.) Isn't this an unknown website for me at the moment? Many people are duped into this kind of attack through only the best of intentions. They are trying to get information or products and get suckered into a site that means them ill. If we only visit sites that are known good quantities, then we might as well uninstall all browsers. I have no proof eBay or ZDnet has not been infected with something as we speak.

Browser security is the best remedy. Since this kind of exploit is most prevelant because of the IE vulnerability that allows essentially a spoofing of a web address, it is perfectly appropriate to speak to the reletive merits of an alternative browser.

Your head in the sand, MS for everyone attitude is counter productive. An attitude where each company or person is free to choose the tools best for them, be it MS, OSS, or other, is the best.

Many of us MS skeptics were once NBMers. You'll be more critical of MS in a few years as well if you are at all open minded. It just takes a few MS beatings and then leaving you out to dry for the light bulb to come on.
