The problem with that strategy ...
... is that stalling costs money. LOTS of money to pay attorney's fees. RIM finally settled because the knew that the jump in its stock prices would PAY FOR the settlement. It DID!

PALM does not have RIMs 'deep pockets' and cannot continue to pay legal fees for long.
