IT's simply dealing with reality

So many people have become offended with the cooperation between Novell/Microsoft that its not even funny. The hysteria on their part just illustrates the mindset they come from. They don't understand that in the real world, companies are looking for some cooperation between linux and windows. They don't understand that like it or not windows is NOT going away, period! We have run into this time after time with our attempts to penetrate into the business world. The potential client is really interested in the product but they want to know how it will work in a windows environment; ie what microsoft will say about it. In one incident, the network engineer for the company really believed that a linux server would cause their ms active directory environment to become unstable and crash. This kind of ignorance would be funny if it wasn't so pitiful. I guess Stallman and the FSF just don't get the real business world; they just live in the techie world. In the real world you have to live with and deal with real people who have these kinds of ridiculous beliefs. I am not coming down on Stallman (et al); just observing that if they don't know; they just don't know.
