What's wrong with Outlook Express?
Why is everybody exercised about Google and Gmail? For years I have used Hotmail as my mail client, but used Outlook Express to send, receive and store mail on my own computer. I don't want to pay Hotmail for their pitiful storage, and I don't need Google. Once the mail is on my hard drive, I have complete control over it, deleting, saving, encrypting or whatever as I wish, and anything that was on Hotmail's server is deleted automatically. I can search my drive either in Outlook Express or in the normal way and/or compress the files if they get a bit big, or transfer them to CD or DVD. And it all happens locally and instantly, not subject to Internet delays or Google problems or DOS attacks. Is there some reason I don't know about why everyone doesn't do this?
