YouTube's no friend to copyright violators

Copyright

You are the closest anyone has been to actual copyright laws here in the US. The minute anyone creates anything such as a picture, or a simple sentence on a piece of paper or in a word processor or even a line in a paint program or tapes it, it is covered by copyright. You do not have to apply to the government whatsoever.

Now fair use does allow for some usage, but the wholesale posting of videos of music or even America's Funniest Videos with favorite music added on YouTube is copyright infringement. YouTube could be found aiding and abetting in such infringment should it not turn over information on who did actually post videos that should not be. Found guilty of aiding and abetting will show liability causes. Before Google bought YouTube, it may not have proved worthwile for those who tried to sue the video site, but now that Google owns it, you can be that they will not want to take a hit in the wallet.
