WSJ Reporter and HP Outside Law Firm
Yesterday HP ran a front page story written by the WSJ woman reporter who's identity was stolen. I am hoping for something similar from the CNET reporter.

Apparently HP's new outside counsel promissed full disclosure of the methods used for the identity fraud. The key question is how were the social security numbers obtained.

She was suppose to believe that her number was obtained from her trash or from a database of ssn's that is "out there". I found it interesting that her realator just happened to be the realator/friend? of a board member. You often provide your SSN to banks involved in loans for real estate.

I also found it interesting that Dunn wrote the WSJ Reporter an apology on behalf of HP and has yet to pleed regarding her indictment.

But most interesting and the subject of much of the article which is quite lengthy is that HP's new Outside Law Firm didn't provide the full disclosure promissed. We know this from additional information that is public from the congressional hearings.

If I were Hurd at HP, I would be firing that law firm and getting another. This is not just the appearance of withholding information it is proof.

We protect polite society as well as our industry when we openly disguss these matters.
