He's simply stating the obvious! I never once saw where he mentioned his company. The industry has decided that MSFT isn't really needed. Whole governements have decided the same thing and in some instances banned the use of MSFT products from their PCs.

People signing up for software updates from MSFT must have realized that MS never makes their delivery dates so an 18 month update cycle was a phantom to begin with. Unless, the customers didn't have any choice and had to take the license plan. No, wait, they have a choice, it just would have costed them all the farm to switch at the time. Oh, that's why they are switching to Linux now - it's a cost issue. Oh, I get it now.
