Do you remember when...
... Music videos were considered advertising, and a a nascent little network emerged to show them, and only them, to the masses? Then the big music companies sued the parent of MTV and won, and soon there were fewer and fewer and fewer videos shown on Music Television - the result was a reduction, not an increase in music sales.

Sometimes an attempt to monetize leads to less money. At the rate MTV is going it will mean "no money". Get rid of the torrent sites too? Now videos are back to being an expense for Big Music not a "profit" center.

And why do we leap to suit anyhow? Why not leap to "let's make a deal". Is everyone that afraid of not getting a fair slice. By suing the judgement proof; they get no advertising and no profit, direct or indirect.
