You forgot the worst tech of 2006
It's Microsoft phone home spyware. Otherwise known as (W)indows
(G)eneratd (A)ttack on customers. This is an offense to all windows
users, thus should be in the number one spot. Well till vista ships,
anyways. WGA isn't about piracy, but a mechanism to generate
revenue. The pirates simply ignore it, while the innocent users get
messages to pay again for a new license. Microsoft chooses to
screw it's honest customers, while not bothering the real pirates.
Maybe there is honor among thieves.
