unclear on the concept.
"Security" isn't a product. It isn't a layer. It isn't "part of" the operating system.
Security is a discipline. A way of doing things. A set of decisions about how much inconvenience you can stand.

Microsoft's product is all about convenience. They won't do any "security" thing if it's going to mean more tech support calls, or if it will weaken the monopoly by removing some obscure legacy function. They'll continue as they always have, treating "security" as a public relations issue. And their system will remain fundamentally insecure because of it.
