I admit my response was innacurate

It is common knowledge that HP had worked with Intel for years on the Itanium design. However, that processor did not rev in a multi-core package (Montecito) until well after AMD Opteron and later Intel Xeon SC procs were released.

Quite frankly, NONE of the above processors are "consumer" products, and HP was actually (along with IBM and Sun) the first major vendor to adopt the AMD multi-core chips and subsequently ship DC Xeons.

I am not sure who the "Finish(sic) Phone Computers" company is, but I think it is a pretty sure bet that Finnish consumers (and the rest of the EU) did not have access to mainstream multi-core technologies any sooner than the American public.

What I don't understand here is the rabid hatred of American technology companies which have, in fact, fueled the U.S. (and world) economies, and brought useful innovations to the lives of Millions.

Prior to Microsoft gaining dominance with MS-DOS, there were literally DOZENS of incompatible disk formats for CP/M. Standardization was good.

Even under DOS, many of us will remember the tribulations of sorting through individual printer drivers FOR EACH APPLICATION (Word Perfect, dBASE, Lotus 1-2-3 etc.)

Windows not only standardized those things, but also defined for the first time, a generally recognized Common User Interface, whose benefit to knowledge worker productivity is INCALCULABLE.

Now Bill Gates is donating a large portion of the fruits of these innovations to cure diseases among the most disenfranchised poor people on Earth !!

And you want to screw with him ....
