- Itanium - Computer Design by Legals
-
The supposidly autorney client confidential material posted through Zdnet last week, demonstrate that HP, rather than embrasing innovation (like Carli claimed on 60 minutes), was attempting to punish Intel for abandoning Itanium (of which HP had "earned" a very favorable discount, possibly from the Compac merger) for multi core multi processor chips. What HP was doing under Dunn was pure and simply wrong for US consumers.
Consider the fact that EU consumers already benefit from Finish Phone Computers almost all of which are multi processor multi core. If Board members had not informed the press of the "playing of AMD off of Intel" plan we might never have know where to look for the real story, which is dumping of opsolete technology on US consumers not worldly enough to see what other nations have owing to strong governments that protect consumers.
HP was doing wrong. Multicore Multiprocessor techology has been delayed owing to that wrong in the US. We now should try to connect Microsoft and Vista, which is likely harmed by the superior techology to this HP consumer fraud.
