Anyone here been in a data center recently?

It would appear that majority of posters on these board are only familiar with HP's consumer lines of products, which are, like those of eMachines, Epson, Dell, Canon, etc. cheaply made. Their price reflects that.

I don't seem to get the feeling that anyone is familiar with the Enterprise-class equipment that is being purchased (valued in the billions) by the Fortune 500, governments, NGOs, schools etc.)

I also don't see a whole lot of indication of substantial operating woes (not that they probably don't exist) based on the past few quarterly earnings reports.

I do value a company partially by its stock price, and that of HP reflects the confidence of investors that it is reasonably well-run, and provides value to at least some class of consumers.

For anyone to predict HP's demise based on some personal bitterness strikes me as based on jealousy, or some perceived wrong, probably based on a bad experience with an inexpensive consumer-grade product.

Professional industry analysts do not seem to share these views, and they get PAID to be correct.
