It is refreshing to see something besides fanboys and private HP agents. Perhaps Dunn and board hired idiots to promote them on the blogs, and their contracts are still active. Some bloggers believe that consumers are suppose to continue buying junk products from rogue companies because of their "little children". I believe in competition and consumer standards.
You are absolutely right about the disposable-type quality. Such an approach might be better at a brand like eMachine, but not at a company who's brand was suppose to mean something.
With Carley's insanity and Dunn's stupidity, and the arrogant attacks of consumers by HP blog agents, I think it is safe to assume the brand is dead. Nobody concerned about long term image does this to the market. It is as if HP believes that they can act like AT&T and get away with it. Perhaps HP will go into fast food, and create a more fattening menu than the market leaders. Or perhaps they will go into energy and create gasoline that is more expensive and dirty than the current bunch of rogues. Or maybe they will try to beat Ford in a race to shut down more factories than the failing auto-hacker.
Oh -- I have an idea. Why doesn't HP start a telephone dating line, like LavaLife. That way, the former HP employees can socialize just like they do now on the payroll.
Don't think I'm a fan of Dell. I just found out they knew for months before announcing the battery recall. That means their customers could have unknowingly caused major disasters and Dell would have been responsible for the deaths of hundreds (if it had been near a tanker or something).
There needs to be a law; if you are an idiot and you run a good company in the ground, you get no severance, no bonus, no stock, no retirement and you lose your house and car. Japanese CEOs don't get bonuses when they jack a company. - Posted by: author20@... Posted on: 10/09/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
