Security is not under the average users control and it is often used as an excuse to pry into our private lives.

The "Patriot Act" was/is supposed to make all of us more secure, but the truth is, I can't tell. But I do know this "security" is being used in ways no one expected or wanted.

You speak of the DOD "card" as a good thing and it may well be, but it also leaves a trail that is easy to follow and use it to invade other people's privacy. (Sounds a lot like a credit card doesn't it?)

Yes I agree security is a very real issue, I also agree that properly implemented it can be a positive factor. But the privacy issue is one no one seems to be ready to step up to the plate with and until that happens you will see people resist against it.
