Yeah...it's possible...
I mean, look at the nimwits that run F500 companies these days...and the things that they somehow think they can get away with. It does stupefy the mind...we expect them to be the smartest, top of their class types...but maybe that's just not so. Maybe what we're looking at is just a bunch of class clowns who are real good at schmoozing and know just enough business, accounting, and math to get by while delegating the hard stuff down the chain somewhere. Not that this is just now occurring to me...but you're right in that the string of stupid exec and board moves lately just defies too many other explanations. The other one left is greed...maybe they're just willing to take certain risks because they are so power hungry and/or greedy, and the payoff seems large enough to justify the risks.
