Great, Congress is involved
Seems to me politicians are masters of leaks for political gain.

They have a biased interest in this case. Its in Congress' best interest to make sure that people who leak information have the advantage....

Its not freedom of speech of the inside source if the entity that "owns" the information decides that it doesn't need to be public knowledge. The corporation should have the right to launch a criminal investigation through local, state, or federal authorties in a way that let's them prevent further details going public so that they don't have to do this sneaky, behind the back style investigation.

Any reporter that has a "secret source" inside a company is no different than a theif who has someone working inside a bank feed them info that makes a successful robbery possible.

The ONLY exception is when a whistleblower comes forward with information that the public should know about. But reporters aren't needed for that unless those in law enforcement and the judicial branch choose to ignore the whistleblower.

Insider trading is illegal, why shouldn't a reporter's inside source be???
