The Fifth Amendment +

Seems to me that there is a difference between Congress and a
Court room. You might need to read the First and Third Articles
of the Constitution if you don't see it.

Speaking to Congress is like being on TV. Prosecutors can use
any of that evidence. The only place you can be compelled to
talk is before a Grand Jury, and those proceedings are secret.
Even the prosecutors who empanel them cannot use any of the
evidence they hear to prosecute another crime (only the relevant
evidence before the Grand Jury can be used, as long as that is
not self-incriminating either).
