MS refesed to team up B4 Win3.11
MS fought Sun even before the Windows platform became a success in the OEM channel. The battle over apps is one thing, the attempt to subvert the ISV and competitors using API churn is anti-trust 101, harmful to the economy, and just plain bad for the user community. As much as I see some good things from MS apps, I have to believe the rest of the industry is probaly capable of coming out with "innovations" too.

Let's see how MS uses this truce ... it could get .NET into enterprise computing if they play it right. If they don't, Sun's take up rate on Java Desktops seems pretty impressive ... corporations are at a tipping point with MS control and high prices on one side and open competition and low cost on the other ... gotta have the boys in Redmond worried since the PC upgrade bandwagon is all but dead!
