How secure do you now feel that any numbskull the with last four digits of your SS number can call up AT&T or Verizon and get your pst few month's phone records??
Pretexting is just a form of Social Engineering which any dexent customer service rep should be trained to avoid. Without some multiple-check system to ensure true identity, NO public company should release private info.
Try this in a hospital where HIPPA regulations are in place. Good luck getting someone else's MEDICAL records, because these people are TRAINED and DRILLED to guard that stuff.
