Another fork bites the dust
The forking of UNIX and the infighting that ensued made sure that UNIX would NEVER become ubiquitous. The same thinking behind IBM's proprietary hardware went into the many proprietary UNIX variants - everyone wanted to corner the market.

Meanwhile the tortoise called M$ crept past the fighting giants and became THE biggest giant. Interesting how things happen as Linux is the new tortoise and M$ is doing the same stuff that its predecessors were doing.
