what killed SGI...
the price of their equipment. I still have my IRIX O2 Webserver from SGI, works like a champ, but the price alone is enough to make anyone but a corporation even think about purchasing one. Lets just say, their prices were so outrageous they started putting windows on their workstations and couldn't even sell them then.
