OSX is not UNIX
OSX is not UNIX. It is not "the most widely used Unix." It is not Unix. Period.

It is, like Linux, a Unix-like system.

To be Unix, it must be certified as Unix by the Open Group. OSX is not. Apple even got into some serious legal trouble that way because they started to actually market OSX using the word "unix," and the Open Group sued them for violating the Unix trademark.

No, I'm not splitting hairs or using semantics here. Unix is what the Open Group says is Unix. Period.
