Phone Industry At Risk
A lot of folks don't have a land line. These are not poor individuals, but they use their cell phones and sometimes their wireless connections for all their business and personal communications. Some folks are using pre-paid phones. Why? 911 is not as effective. Folks can't find you in the phone book. Why would anybody sacrifice their land line for a wireless phone?

1. Cost -- a land line costs $40 per month or more. Cells cost about the same or more. Many folks think: "Why should I pay both bills when I am on my cell 95% of the time?"

2. Convenience -- why deal with two beaurocracies?

3. Privacy -- there are few things worse than the feeling you get after you find out your privacy has been violated. You can never have confidence in your land line again.

4. Security -- criminals use phone records to steal and harm people. A large number of criminals call their victims before targeting them.

When private investigators are found to be doing this to thousands of law abiding Americans, and the phone industry doesn't comment, it might be time to send them a strong message. Not by land line telephone or email. They need to hear from our pocket books. Whether you stop using long distance on your land line or throw it out entirely in favor of 100% cell communications, you tell the indifferent, complicitous phone industry that you have had it with privacy and security violations.

It is time to send the message folks. If you fail to act, you can be sure you will never, ever, ever have any chance of privacy using a line with your name attached.

1. Dunn and all board members involved in the conspiracy must face the maximum statutory penalties.

2. The Private Investigators who did it must lose their licenses and go to jail for a long long time.

3. HP Spokespersons must be fired immedialtely. They are working for criminals and have no credibility.

4. IT directors and consumers must now ask themselves, "Has HP put some virus in my PC to spy on me too?"

5. Why was HP concerned about the leaks surrounding Fiorina's departure? The question I have is, What other secrets surrounding Fiorina was the board afraid would get out? Was Fiorina or the board involved in something so damaging to HP that millionaire executives were willing to risk going to jail? To me, Fiorina was one of the most destructive CEOs in Silicon Valley (and Wallstreet) history. For years, when I was an HP reseller, I wondered how any competent and ethical board could keep somebody so horrible at the wheel. Perhaps the biggest and most damaging secrets have yet to be revealed.
