But AT&T now OWNS the customer calling data, no?
In a 22JUN2006 article ZDNET discussed SBC-AT&T's new "customer data" policy. AT&T had announced that from that point onward AT&T "owned" the customers' calling data such that the data could be sold at will by AT&T. ref http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1009_22-6087081.html
And in fact AT&T admits to selling this data to third parties, but claims that they do so only when it serves AT&T's marketing purposes. ref:
