You're confusing AMD with an open source company.

The question about Intel is whether the company is laying off unneeded people, hired in such a huge mistake by management that all top executives should be fired immediately, or laying off necessary people, lost in such a huge mistake that all top executives should be fired immediately.

Though it's difficult to choose between those alternatives, all top executives should be fired immediately because in all cases it's the right thing to do.
