This is the legacy of the modern corporation...
this is the ugly underbelly of capitalist greed. Capitalism is a wonderful thing, so long as it is properly restrained. But in it's current incarnation it is the catalyst that will impoverish the masses and enrich only a small few. The eventual outcome will be a nation of indentured servants, like our forefathers when they came to the fledgling nation.

Yes Enron was the tip of the iceberg... Microsoft, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Ford, General Motors, Wal-Mart, Target... the list goes on. Yes profit is good, but when that profit comes at the expense of the those that helped make it happen then it is worth nothing. One thing I noticed while I did my short stint working for the McGraw-Hill companies is that 3-5 million annual profits were not enough! The level of greed that drives these corporations is the level of greed that will destroy this nation financially.

It's time we as Americans stood up and said enough and reigned in these out of control monsters. It's time we castrate these corporations back to thier former selves and to what they were supposed to be. But alas, this will never happen and when it's all but too late to correct the errors, nothing can be done and the Empire crumbles, like all before it.
