Larry Ellison's toy habit
Thanks to Larry's "toy habit" I can find the record I am looking for pretty much instantly in a 5Gb table. Furthermore by navigating over foreign keys I can link to other referenced data.

The time for the hierarchical file system to die is long overdue, it is slow, unmanageable and inconsistent. Just a shame that both Windows and Unix seem stuck in this dismal world where every program has to invent it's own method for data management.
