US Constitution is the original Free Trade agreement
I'll not quibble with the authors justifications for the reverse osmosis of domestic jobs to repressed societies, but I would say that "Free Trade" isn't "free" until the humans in the equation have equal freedom.

Our Founders recognized this, that is why there is a Federal Constitution that guarantees God given rights and free trade across the borders of the several States united. Tariffs are reasonable revenue streams when they are fair and not used as attempts at unreasonable protectionism. But, if those tariffs are broken down, and the US law allows corporations to send their businesses off shore to avoid taxation, then you have a double wound - the jobs are lost and the tax revenues are lost.

This "globalization for globalization's sake" argument ingnores that fact that free people and equal protections are a requisite for fair market trade. What we're doing is exploitation and an economic, self-administered bloodletting.
