- This isn't the deal
-
Err have you actually dealt with a customer service centre that's
been "off shored" - it's a total nightmare, and they are simply
not interested. That ALWAYS happens when you send something
to another company; the other company isn't as diligent as your
own staff used to be. Now when you move it to another
continent, the effects are magnified.
When the company (like Dell as an example I know well)
insulates them self from their customers then how can you even
explain how bad the service actually is (and it's about as bad as
it can be)? So now we're going to expand this to everything else?
Doesn't sound like a good plan.
This ISN'T about doing anything better - it's about doing it
cheaper (even if that is worse). Why? Because we're addicted to
short-termism (because we watch the stock price a little too
hard). In the long run this isn't going to do these companies any
good at all (don't even consider the consumer stuck in Dell's
support hell). Better isn't part of this deal at all, only cheaper.
And guess what, by the time we realise our mistake, we won't
have the skills to fix it. How is going to steal our lunch? Indian
and Chinese companies with a work force WE paid to train! Is
this REALLY what we want? - Posted by: Jeremy Chappell Posted on: 03/25/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
