Actually they do invent in other countries
Canada is a very good example of that. Many innovations have come from Canada. Stuff like the cure for on of the types of Diabetes.

Now 3rd world countries don't invent anything really new as how can you invent in 1 room shack that lacks electricity and running water where it's fight to just survive from day to day.

Places like India, China, Japan, and such are not 3rd world countries. They have thier poor and slums just like North American countries do. Just we North American's (Canada and the US) like to delude ourselves into believing poverty doesn't exist in our countries. Go to Native reserve some time, drive through the slums of major city and it's really an eye opener.
