First to file....yeah but
I am filing for a patent now and I am getting worried by these stories of theft. I agree that we need to revamp the uspto but we need to do it without trampling the little guy. If the fees the office collects are going to work for people then some need to be reinvested back into the system to give the entrepeneur some assistance in getting through the filing process. Some live customer service should be in order here.
Also the website is bloated and unorganized. Why not just have a simple walk through web format form with uploads of jpg images for the drawings etc. Intead I am asked to use PDF files which requires an adobe pdf publishing capability(not free). Then I have to spend hours learning how to make the pdf program do what it took me 10 min to do with MS word. I feel very bogged down as I try to bring my product to life and the uspto is of little help. So if we are going to revamp the system why not go all the way and do it right website and all.
