The Napster brand is dead
It seems to me that when people think Napster, they think the
birthplace of p2p. Now that Napster is no longer a client of free
p2p downloads, I don't know how it can market itself. Want to
download music? Go to the Apple store. Want to distribute
unsigned bands? Go to MySpace and YouTube. The WERE the
name of a very important element of this golden age of the
Internet but they have unfortunately gone from innovators to
imitators. It will never happen, but I think the Napster brand
could only survive if it was attached to an innovative new
method of illegal p2p downloading network to regain its crown
from Torrent...
