The world is different than that of pong
and with it the sense and sensibilties of it's people. The news seems to be the most violent thing freely accessible, and the 'news' and reality shows that draw upon modern and past conflicts as desensitizing or polarizing as any game, because in the end, the game is a work of fiction (dismissible as such even if interactive). The restlessness or turmoil of the real world doesn't go away, it gets surpressed and released otherwise.

No head in the sand thing, but the world needs to be presented in it's brighter aspects as well. Whether in news, gaming, real life activities, . . .we put ourselves in the prospective. And yes, parents need to parent effectively.
