Versatile!
They are very versatile and they will adapt to whichever way the market goes. You are correct about the 2 core products making money, which is why Ballmer announced an additional 2 core services to enhance their revenue. Sorry to crumble your cookies but OpenOffice is NOT eating into Office sales. A select handful that use the application, the rest use MS Office.

BTW, what are the two new cores of which you speak? What magical breakthroughs will make them more competitive?

BTW, if you read the article you would know. Now I'm not going to answer since you seem to not want to get your facts straight.

are LOSING it on all fronts, from Itunes to OpenOffice to Linux to FireFox to LAMP to u name it, they are on the downhill slide all the way around.

They are not losing on all fronts. They never had a competitor to iTunes, so right away I know your full of it. Linux is not a threat, anyone that uses that hacked up clone of an operating system is in for deep trouble in the long run. Firefox is gaining share on IE, mostly due to features and IE not being updated in years. What i really love is how you left out the markets where they are winnig, like gaming consoles and mobile platforms. You see, if you listed those two then you wouldn't have any arguement at all for a bogus "losing on all fronts" statement. Its ok, i forgive your ignorance.
