Versatile - Capable of doing many things competently.

I just had to click, I usually ignore your kool aid posts, but versatile? You have to be kidding, and I almost spit diet coke out my nose as I laughed at this. They have 2, TWO, II successful products that make them money. XP and Office. EVERYTHING else is losing money or at best breaking even. They are losing their monopoly as revenue from Office is under tremendous pressure from OpenOffice. The days of 80% profit margins are gone.

Their server offerings I would not call products, they are already subscription based offerings and that revenue stream is under IMMENSE pressure.

It is also a truly versatile (i.e. doing things competently) company that starts the NEXT release of their operating system before XP was released and a mere 6 1/2 years later, it MIGHT be released in 7 more months, maybe.

BTW, what are the two new cores of which you speak? What magical breakthroughs will make them more competitive? Don't forget, they HAD the monopoly, the OWNED the world and are LOSING it on all fronts, from Itunes to OpenOffice to Linux to FireFox to LAMP to u name it, they are on the downhill slide all the way around. So again, what cores will reverse the slide?
