This will be the next "Vista feature" to be jetisoned and we will be back to XP like restricted and administrator accounts. Good job bozos!

It ain't going away. Don't know where you're getting your info. Assuming that Microsoft will ditch that feature just because people are whining about having to go through a few extra steps is silly. Vista's UAC is a new security paradigm. It works. If anything the volume of the whine is proving that it's working.

The only real times when UAC kicks in is when you're trying to do something that requires an escalation of rights. Most average corporate users have NO business installing ANYTHING without an admin's permission. So if they're going to some site they have NO business going to during production hours that's trying to install some nasty trojan or spyware, and UAC kicks in, then it's a good thing and tough cookies for the user who should be busy doing something else - like their job...

As far as home users go, it might raise their conciousness a bit about security. It might make them THINK before blindly clicking OK on something.

Either way, it's not going away.
