Patents should only be held by the human inventor.
Failure to promote the patent should place it into the PUBLIC DOMAIN.

Add-ons to patents which only build on the patent rather than represent another idea should NOT be allowed.

The current system inhibits innovation. This system goes against everything that allowed this counrty, and the world for that matter, to continually build upon what those before us did.

Patents are locks on knowledge that prevent others from building. The writers of the Constitution knew this and clearly indicated in the Constitutiional provision for patents and copyrights that these were to be limited monopolies granted to the INVENTOR or AUTHOR for a LIMITED TIME.

As the system now works, the knowledge never becomes COMMON KNOWLEDGE. It remains locked up forever. This inhibits development an "innovation".
