The definition seems too narrow
When I Xerox something, I might use a Cannon, an HP scanner, or a Lexmark. It is the act of making an exact replica that it denotes, not the technology or company involved. The same for Band-Aid, Kleenex, or Rollerblade.
So googling should simply be looking up information on somthing using the WWW, not necessarily using Google to do it.
