- In the Netherlands (yes, I am from Holland) SMART cars have been around for years. It's cute to see 2 of them parked in one parking spot. But most important; when are we as Americans (I've been here 30 years and can call America mine as well)finally going to do our part to save some of the fuels and energies that are being depleted so fast? If that means sitting in a 'smaller' car that does 60+ mpg as opposed to 18 mpg, well ... where is the question? As far as driving a large car to satisfy a large ego ... next time your girlfriend, will hopefully, remind you to spend money on buying her some roses, as opposed to buying a(nother) Diamond, for some rich oil sheik in Saudi Arabia through your gas purchase. Driving a small car is cool. I just wish everyone would jump on a scooter (not motocycle) ride their bikes when the trip is under a mile or two, and enjoy the super fresh air, we're paying for with all our emission controls. Take care everyone.
