If you were going to quote someone, you might have made a better choice than the BBC which has been criticized by many in the UK for their one-sided reporting on the WOT and an article by someone, who, if you had done even just a Google search on, believes that the U.S. Government let 9/11 happen because they needed a reason to do something (depending on who is talking it is something different). Who believes the CIA trained terrorist in the U.S.. We did not need to, we had plenty of ways to teach them in Pakistan and other countries in the area.
Now having said that did the U.S. give visas to people in Saudia Arabia who shouldn't have gotten them? Yes they did, but that was because of long standing State Dept. policy rather than the CIA.
Did the CIA train Afgan fighters (some of whome are now terrorist)? Yes they did. Did they fund groups fighting the russians? Yes they did. Did the ever fund OSB? Not as far as anyone can find out. Did the Bin Laden family fly out of the states after 9/11? Yes they did, but it was after the FBI released to go.
The article cites people talking about the first attack on the World Trade Center. Bush (either one of them) wasn't president, Clinton was. The attack on the Khobar Tower, again while Clinton was president. 9/11, Bush #2 Was president, so we have three presidents, both political parties, the State Dept., the CIA and who knows else that were suppose to know about this but no one has come forward and said anything either when it happened, before it happened or after it happened. I don't think so. - Posted by: richhayes Posted on: 06/26/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
