- Common sense - did you say?
-
The administration disingenuously takes full credit for five years without terrorist attacks. However, except for rhetoric, or as attorneys might say, a "barrage of persiflage", they had absolutely nothing to do with it. In fact, just the opposite is true. For instance, under their so-called "protection", less than 10 % of our port shipping is inspected and air cargo safety, according to airport professionals, is a sick joke on the people. Then, there are two (2) open borders which, for the last five years, the North Korean Army could have goose stepped across(just to cite a couple of "common sense" vulnerabilities). Simply put Sir, nothing has happened because - NOTHING HAS HAPPENED.
On the contrary, it seems their idea of "protection" also included selling American ports (already 90% susceptible to terrorism) to a foreign government. GO FIGURE! Since you brought up "common sense", perhaps you could expound on the wisdom of that one. The rest of us would welcome a ?common sense" clarification. On the other hand, who knows? Maybe such insightful, ?common sense? leadership will somehow lull the terrorists back to sleep for another five years.
Seriously Sir, these terror guys do not work on our schedule, couldn't care less about five, or fifty years and certainly do not play by our rules. Nor are they remotely intimidated by our great military might, planes, tanks and drones.
Most people do not know that we taught these guys everything they know. Adopting our Continental Army?s strategy (which defeated the British) they just stand in the shadows, plant IEDs and fire away at will. In fact, they were Ronald Reagan's "Freedom fighters" in Afghanistan when fighting the Russians. They used the same ?fight from the shadows? tactics then that they are employing now. Certainly, and most unfortunately, we taught them well.
Without a doubt, the American Continental Army made their mold. The Colonists knew way back then, as we seem to have forgotten now, that it is the height of stupidity, or a definite lack of common sense, for a smaller force to facially confront a superior one. Recall the British Army formed a two-mile wide line, complete with bugles blasting, as their main battle line strategy. The opposing Army was supposed to cooperate by standing in front to get shot. The Colonists, being mimicked by these latter day terrorists, merely said to hell with that. Why play by their rules and get slaughtered when we can play by ours? And so, here we are ? like latter day Russians - taking a whipping from former ?Freedom Fighters?. Now that hurts.
Lastly Sir, with regard to our arbitray time frames, there are still radical fundamentalists who would carry out the Ayatollah Komani's 20 year-old order to kill that English writer. The long and short of this is, taking credit for five years without attacks is tantamount to taking credit for the weather. There is room for doubt. - Posted by: louic@...
