excuse me?

where have you gotten your information on food supply increasing faster than the population? Have you taken the time to research that statement? True, in this country, food supplies have indeed increased, but this trend is now slowing due to more and more previously agricultural land is converted to residental properties. Worldwide, production has fallen some in the last 12 years and has not kept up with the growth in population in many third world countries, but lets look beyond the 3rd world and look to China as a prime example of a country that is doing what you speak of...sterilization..China, as of last year showed no increase in food supply and yet had a nearly 10% increase in population and a nearly 12% increase in food importation over the last five years. China now imports nearly 31% of it's food from the US alone. Some African countries have been in a drought for over a decade and they are not capable of growing enough food to feed a village, let alone a country, yet their population continues to grow at 6-10% yearly, we have all seen the photos of starving children and adults in Africa and some of us have even been there to witness it firsthand, a few have seen the same in China and the countries of the former USSR. Fact is, population growth has continued while at the very best food production has remained at a fairly constant level WORLDWIDE over the past 5 years! China and the Former USSR Countries purchase approximately 81% of the over stock of american farms and ranches, 6% is now used for humanitarian purposes, 2% is used as a strategic stockpile in america and the roughly 11% that remains is divided among all other countries of the world. This is not enough food to feed an ever growing world population and the forecast is that with less and less agricultral land available in this country every year that in the next 15 to 25 years the US will only be capable of providing for it's own citizens. How can i know all this?? I am involved with the futures markets and I am the Information, Technology and Statistician for a privately owned large farm/ranch.
