While BOFH is obviously overstating the issue to say it is just a Microsoft issue, No_Ax_to_Grind is making the waters equally muddy when he (she?) fails to acknowledge that MS is still, other than the negligent user, the single biggest security hole in the corporate computing landscape.

Security needs to be a corporate focus. The attention it is getting today is totally deserved and realistic. Never before has it been as risky to share information about myself with a company, and don't fool yourself that it is only Internet collection of this data that poses risks. These holes need to be closed. This, much more than the hue and cry from the general populace, has fueled Microsoft's security reponse.

The writing is on the wall. If your software is not secure, it cannot be used here.
