I Know Where You're Coming From, Dude
Me and my Linux/OSS rep just finished singing Kumbayah around the fireside and sat down for some serious mandible movin', dude. Like, I said we should main stream our Alternative Hand Woven Basket internet site, maybe buy Microsoft 'cos you know, they have it all integrated - an' because of Linux they are getting cheaper (bit of a red light special, I guess).

Bad trip, replies my rep. You know, he says, you have all the functionality with OpenOffice that Bill G, like CHARGES you for in MS Office? And OpenOffice is free.

I say "No way" and my rep replied: "Way." You see, OpenOffice has a spreadsheet and a word processor and a presentation thing like Powerpoint and a spreadsheet - oh, I already said that. Anyway, I asked: "What about the email software you get with MS Office, you know man, the Look Out email client."

"Don't go there." says my rep. "Serious viral issues." We sat for a bit and he mentioned there is also an open source pow-wow doing this email Look Out look alike stuff as well. And you get all the web enabling stuff an' all that too.

Dude, I said. How much is all this, like Basket Weaving doesn't make you millionaires?

It can be free, he said.

"No Way!" I said.

"Way," he replied.

"Cool."

We sat and look at the stars for a bit. "I don't think Mike Cox will talk to me anymore if I go down the Linux route. He'll buy his hand woven baskets from someone else," I said.

"Man, has he *ever* spoken to you? Or bought a basket from you?"

"Point, dude." And me and my rep are in total harmony.

Coooooooooool.
