It not about what the consumer wants
Big Box electronics stores never sell what the consumer wants. They sell what they feel they can convince the consumer to take while profiting the most.

For example. I wanted a Panasonic Dolby reciever but couldn't buy it anywhere. Yet it was for sale supposedly on the Panasonic website. It was the better reviever at the time but stores didn't sell. So I settled for a Sony reciever, still regret that to this day especially now that the Panasonic one is in the stores.

Damn those salesmen.

By the way I've watched salesmen selling windows XP computers to people that won't do what they are asking for. They would be better off with a MAC but a slick snake tongue commision salesman convinced them to get something they don't want.
