A non-issue that the Administration should give up....
With all the woes of the current Administration, primarily over budget and war, the last thing anyone needs or wants is a Taliban-like crusade against "immorality."
The whole point of the war against the radical Islamists is to make the point that the world is better off with freedom, free expression, free markets and global trade.
If the Republicans can read the mood of the overwhelmingly centrist American body politic, then they will understand that the last thing anyone wants is stupid repression of information (pornographic or otherwise). It is said that in an information society, censorship is seen as a malfunctioning node that information will re-route around. Unless we become as repressive as China, the Ashcrofts of the world need to realize that information is globalized, and information wants to be free, and will be free. Let freedom ring.
