In some mideastern nations, the legal age of consent FOR A FEMALE is 9. This is obviously designed strictly for the gratification of male pedophiles. Here in the states child molesters are routinely punished, but there are still too many out there. Child-porn exacerbates the problem.
Still, if 2 (or more?) consenting adults wish to get naked in front of a camera, and if still more consenting adults wish to pay to watch it on film or disk, I can't see why that should be a problem as long as children are protected. What people do in private, as long as no one is injured and as long as no one's rights are violated, should be legal.
Ashcroft is a good and decent man, but I believe he is overly zealous when it comes to these issues... and zealots can be dangerous.
